As elected vice chairman of the Bureau of the EPAS Consultative Committee, ISCA President Mogens Kirkeby will now serve as the acting chairman of the Bureau over the coming months, as the current chair has stepped down.

“We are in the position that we need to find a new chairman and it is natural that I, as vice chairman, take the responsibility until the committee can meet and hold an election,” he says.

“The EPAS Consultative Committee is an illustration of the member states and the Council of Europe valuing the input and voices of non-governmental sport organisations when they collaborate on sports issues. I have experience within international sport politics and the Consultative Committee and I will be committed to representing the Consultative Committee towards the leadership of the 37 member states’ sport collaboration in the Council of Europe.”

EPAS Consultative Committee
Up to 30 European and international organisations comprise the EPAS Consultative Committee within the Council of Europe. The Consultative Committee’s task is to give its opinions on the programme of activities and provide advice for the decisions of the Governing Board of the 37 member states of the Council of Europe, which collaborate on sport within the framework of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS).
