"Regional organization of Norwegian sports.

Viken sports district is a result of the merger between Akershus, Buskerud and Østfold counties.

The head of organisation for the new sports circle is Kathinka Mohn. The district will have administrative resources with workplaces in Strømmen, Drammen and Fredrikstad.

Viken sports circle is Norway's largest in population and number of memberships in Norwegian sports.

Viken sports circle has 18 employees and is organized in the professional teams:

• Sports policy
• Sports Council
• Club development
• Communication
• Law and organization
• Para sport
• Projects
• Youth
• Business Administration

Even if the sports circuit as an administrative part changes, the special sports and activity will continue as before.

Viken sports circle will have the sports teams and sports councils in focus, in close cooperation with the special sports.

Viken sports district consists of approx. 1,500 sports teams, 51 sports councils and 55 special sports and constitutes about 22% of the membership in Norwegian sports."

It is theresponsibility of the sports community to offer physical activity and sports enjoyment in a professionally sound and responsible manner, while the sport's most important society's contribution is to influence a more physically active society. Viken sports circle wants to be an important contributor to increased physical activity beyond its own organization. We have enshrined this in our vision: Sports and activity enjoyment for everyone in Viken."
