ABOUT Social Service of Commerce São Paulo
"Sesc (Social Service of Commerce) is a private organization founded in 1946, supported by entrepreneurs in commerce, tourism, and services, aimed at enhancing the well-being and quality of life for industry professionals and their families. Guided by the principles of the Carta da Paz Social (Letter for Social Peace), Sesc promotes cultural, educational, and social transformation through innovative programs.
Its network in São Paulo includes over 40 venues focused on culture, sports, health, and social tourism, collaborating with renowned architects like Lina Bo Bardi and Paulo Mendes da Rocha. Sesc also extends its reach through outdoor cultural and sports events, food donation programs, and digital platforms like SescTV and SescSP.
Sesc’s broad impact includes partnerships with city halls and trade unions, as well as involvement in national and international organizations focused on art, sports, culture, and social services. With a staff of over 7,000, Sesc fosters non-formal education and encourages the development of autonomy and interaction across diverse audiences. It is recognized as a policy-making leader in its areas of operation."
