ABOUT FundLife: Dreams In Colour
"FundLife is a community-led, not-for-profit organization based based in Tacloban, Philippines, dedicated to using sports as a tool for creating creating educational and employment pathways for highly vulnerable youth.
FundLife uses the power of sport to protect, educate and empower children and youth living in short term and chronic emergencies through innovative programs that integrate sports, education, and community engagement.
FundLife was founded in 2014, in direct response to Super Typhoon Haiyan (local name Yolanda), which hit the Philippines on November 8th 2013. At the time it reached land, it was the strongest recorded typhoon of the 21st century and resulted in over 7,000 deaths and resulted in over one million people internally displaced.
Since inception, FundLife's two flagship sports projects, Football For Life Academy (FFLA) and Girls Community League programme have reached over 87,000 vulnerable children and young people across the Philippines through regular play, education and emotional support sessions.
By focusing on holistic development and keeping children in education, FundLife priorities essential life skills that foster self-confidence in young people, encouraging them to pursue their passions and reach their full potential, or as they say’ enable young people to ‘dream in colour’"
