ABOUT Estonian Sports Association Jõud

"Estonian Sports Association Jõud is a non-profit voluntary organization working in the public interests and directing its efforts at sports movement and providing better conditions for sports activities. The JÕUD is the national umbrella organization for sports associations of all the 15 counties of Estonia. The county associations unite 650 local clubs with 30 000 members daily taking part in activities.

ESA JÕUD organizes and promotes on all territorial levels sports events, championships, tournaments and competitions of all sports activities. The JÕUD also organizes on national and regional levels courses for sport leaders, trainers and volunteers.

The most important sports events organized by JÕUD are the Estonian Sports Summer and Winter Games which take place every 4 years. In addition, every year summer and winter games of towns and parishes and different sports championships are organized.

Every year we also organize championships for the members of our clubs. We have competitions in 40 different sports - athletics, mountain-bike cross-country, orienteering, swimming, volleyball, basketball, football, handball, floorball, judo, Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, female wrestling, sumo, weightlifting, kettlebell, shooting, compak sporting, tennis, table tennis, badminton, equestrian, rally sprint, chess, draughts, petanque, tug-of-war, Nordic walking, fishing, quiz show, golf, discgolf, bridge, novuss, triathlon, archery, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, ski-orienteering, biathlon, skating, ice hockey, ski jumping and motocross."
