We organised this event under the Chatham House Rule. The rule implies that Information that is received in the meeting can be shared externally afterwards, but it should not be shared who said what, nor who took part. This was done to create a trustful and open dialogue, and be able to identify ways forward regarding this complex topic.

MEP Toine Manders

MEP Toine Manders is a Dutch politician and a lawyer. He is also a member of the European Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats)

He is also a member of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection and the Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. He is a substitute on the Committee for Employment and Social Affairs and has contributed to ‘a new EU strategic framework on health and safety at work post 2020’.

He is a member of the MEP Interest Group on Obesity and Health System Resilience, and has been a member of the European Parliament since 1999.
